Così chiamato in memoria di Orneore Metelli (1872-1938). Egli è internazionalmente conosciuto come fondatore della Scuola di Pittura Naif. Egli iniziò a dipingere ben oltre l’età di 50 anni nel retrobottega di un calzolaio. Nei suoi oltre 200 lavori, egli rappresenta una città che è lo specchio del mondo, un riflesso dei mille aspetti della vita quotidiana.
(7260) Metelli = 1994 FN. Discovered 1994 March 18 at the Santa Lucia Observatory at Stroncone. Named in memory of Orneore Metelli (1872-1938). He is internationally acknowledged as the founder of the school for naïve painting. He started painting well past the age of 50 in the back of his shoemaker’s shop. In his more than 200 works, he represented a town that is a mirror of the world, a reflection of thousands of aspects of daily life. (M 33386)
